The Roam 6 AX3000 (TL-WR3002X) is a travel router of roughly 4 by 3.5 inches. You connect it to hotel Wi-Fi, a wired port or a tethered phone, and your laptop, phone and streaming stick join its private network instead of the public one. It handles hotel login pages in one step and can run as an OpenVPN or WireGuard client or server.
It has a 2.5-gigabit WAN port, a gigabit LAN port, a USB 3.0 port and a microSD slot. TP-Link's AX1500 travel router, the model below, has slower Wi-Fi, gigabit-only ports, USB 2.0 and no card slot. Frequent travelers and people working from rentals get the most from it; at home with a normal router it adds nothing.
Worth knowing No battery inside: it runs from USB-C at 5V/3A, from the included adapter or a power bank that can supply that. The card cash-back in the listing title is for Prime Visa cardholders only.
