One of our picks for Monday, October 12, 2026. We haven't tested it. How we pick
The ET-4950 is filled from bottles instead of cartridges. Epson includes one black and three colour bottles, which it rates at up to 6,600 black or 5,500 colour pages, and the printhead is permanent. It prints on both sides automatically, holds 250 sheets, has a document feeder for copying and scanning a stack, and connects over Wi-Fi or Ethernet. Epson's rated speeds are 18 pages a minute in black and 9 in colour.
An ink-tank printer costs more up front and far less per page afterwards, so it makes sense for a household or small office that prints every week. Someone who prints a few pages a month will wait years to see the difference. It follows the ET-4850 in Epson's range, with twice the duty cycle by Epson's figures.
Worth knowing Epson notes that some of the included ink is used up during first setup, so the first fill gives fewer pages than a replacement set. Refills are Epson's 502 series bottles.
